The April 2025 issue of Thrasher Magazine features Tristan "T-Funk" Funkhouser unleashing a heavy wrong-way tree transfer at a classic Natas Kaupas spot, blending raw power with a reckless approach that embodies true street skating. The bold red Thrasher masthead looms overhead, reinforcing its legacy as skateboarding’s bible. The shot captures the grit of DIY skating—cracked concrete, a weathered tree trunk, and chain-link fences surrounding the terrain.

Inside, this issue packs interviews with Blake Carpenter and Tom Schaar, diving into their journeys, styles, and the next phase of their careers. Chris Joslin’s "5 Greats" segment pays homage to the skaters who shaped his approach, while a behind-the-scenes look at "War Cry" sheds light on the creative and brutal process behind a modern full-length. The Monster Energy crew’s mission to Europe delivers heavy-hitting action from top pros, proving once again that skateboarding’s global expansion shows no signs of slowing down.

Since its launch in 1981 by Kevin Thatcher, Eric Swenson, and Fausto Vitello, Thrasher Magazine has remained the most authentic voice in skateboarding, known for its unfiltered coverage, brutal "Skater of the Year" battles, and commitment to keeping skating raw. Its Skate Rock tours, Hall of Meat, and Firing Line features have influenced generations of skateboarders, documenting everything from backyard pools to modern video projects.

Stix SGV has proudly carried Thrasher for over 25 years, making it a staple for local skaters who want to stay connected to the culture. The magazine has always been more than just pages—it's a connection to the streets, the legends, and the next generation of skateboarding.

Stix SGV has proudly served the San Gabriel Valley skateboarding community since the late ‘90s. With three locations across Los Angeles County, we’ve been deeply rooted in the local scene. Our Monrovia shop has been a staple since 1997, followed by our Claremont location in 2014, and our South Pasadena shop opening its doors in 2022. Our mission has always been simple: to uphold skateboarding culture and stay true to our community.
