Founded in 1991 by professional skateboarders Tommy Guerrero and Jim Thiebaud, Real Skateboards emerged from a desire to create a brand that resonated with the authentic skateboarding community. Both Guerrero and Thiebaud were former riders for Powell Peralta but sought greater creative freedom and a platform that truly represented skaters' interests. With support from industry pioneer Fausto Vitello, they established Real under the Deluxe Distribution umbrella in San Francisco, California.
