Real Skateboards was established in 1991 by professional skateboarders Tommy Guerrero and Jim Thiebaud. Dissatisfied with the corporate direction of their previous sponsor, Powell-Peralta, Guerrero and Thiebaud sought to create a brand that resonated with the core values of skateboarding. With support from industry pioneer Fausto Vitello, they founded Real under the Deluxe Distribution umbrella in San Francisco, California. Since its inception, Real has been committed to producing high-quality skateboarding products and supporting the skateboarding community.

Ishod Wair, born on November 1, 1991, in Bordentown, New Jersey, is renowned for his versatile and powerful skateboarding style. He gained prominence in the skateboarding world through a series of impressive video parts and contest performances. In 2013, Wair's exceptional talent and contribution to the sport were recognized when he was awarded Thrasher Magazine's Skater of the Year, one of the most prestigious honors in skateboarding. His partnership with Real Skateboards reflects a mutual dedication to quality, progression, and the authentic spirit of skateboarding.
